Kendrick School, established in 2003, is a selective girls' school with academy status, catering to students aged 11-18. The institution has specialized in Science, Mathematics, and Languages, with this focus extending to all subjects, including English, Arts, Humanities, Music, Drama, Computing, and Technology. Having achieved academy status in February 2011, Kendrick has consistently maintained high academic standards and is recognized as one of the top state schools in the country.

Proud of its outstanding reputation, Kendrick fosters an environment that encourages students to pursue knowledge and a love of learning within a secure and caring setting. The school strives to honor traditions while embracing modern teaching, learning, technology, management, and leadership approaches.

Kendrick actively collaborates with other schools and organizations, establishing strong relationships with secondary and primary schools locally and beyond. The school seeks partnerships with educational institutions and businesses, sharing best practices and opportunities with other schools in Reading. Currently, Kendrick serves as a hub school in the Science Leadership Partnership in the South East of England, providing support and expertise in Science education. Additionally, it is part of the Reading Teaching School in collaboration with Churchend Primary School.

Having undergone five OFSTED inspections, Kendrick School has consistently received an "outstanding" rating. In the November 2022 inspection, OFSTED commended the school, stating, "Pupils and sixth formers are rightfully proud of their school community. They excel in their learning, and one parent's sentiment resonates widely: 'The school does a great job of creating well-rounded, kind, human beings who will hopefully go on to make the world a better place. The academic results are important, of course, but far from the only focus.' Inspectors wholeheartedly agree."
